Doctor Samuel Johnson's house! The man who created the first dictionary! Yes, ladies and gentlemen, I sat at his desk, with original copies of his two volume dictionary, thumbing through them. They actually let us touch the books! What a treat!

Okay, so this was really cool. The wall with two doors in these pictures is hinged. That's right. The wall is hinged. It opens up so that this little cubby becomes an open sitting ledge for the window beyond and it becomes the wall for the opening to the room off to the right.

Here is what is within that wall as it is seen above.

My friend Sangit with my pipe and some of the fun clothing in Doc Johnson's house that are periodesque and we are allowed to play with.

Sangit, Brittney, Davina, Allie (I think... fail.), and Ethan (I'm pretty sure on this one).

Kenny and Dr. Nick Foxton, my London and its Literature professor. Nick happens to be a bad ass photographer by the way, here, check him out!

Doc Johnson had a sense of humor! What a guy! Oh, and yes. These photos are from the original dictionaries.

The table and the dictionaries.

And after Doc Johnson's, the trip back to ClayHill.

After I got back to the flat, I ate a few PB&Js before heading out to the Quintessentially British Film Night that Chloe, our London Study Abroad contact, puts on for us each Wednesday evening. Tonight was The Life of Brian!

Now I'm home. Reading my Norton publication A Dictionary of the English Language: An Anthology by Samuel Johnson and writing a postcard to my Aunt and Uncle! Mmmyeah. My Unca Dave is a Johnson enthusiast as well so his postcard... Well, he reads this so I'll let it be a surprise and you can all blame him for that little tease of information not revealed.

Ciao for now!
