Reykjavik

My last moments with Avery before heading through security.

They had a L'Occitane section in the Duty Free shop!

Me trying to sleep on the flight to Reykjavik.

The clouds are amazingly beautiful over Iceland!

Check out that world! What a cool planet we live on!

Clouds and?

See the reflection of the clouds in the ocean?

It's pretty cool!

This wall'o'cloud seems to surround Iceland while not being directly over it!

Okay, basically a duplicate, but this is still cool.

Our descent.

YouTube Video

Look! A little boat!

That's a little factory! I thought it was volcanic activity after all the hype I'd gotten from random people about Iceland. Apparently there is not a volcano within a day's travel of the airport as I'd been led to believe.

Yay steam!

Touchdown!

Not quite Air Force One, it's the party version with '90's music: Wow Force Two!
Wait... That was Now! That's What I Call Music, not "Wow".

I remember trying this when it first came to Bozeman! It's actually pretty good. But here it is in it's home!

I got my first visa!!!

Woah! That's a haircut! They must have a good "scene" here, whatever that entails.

Just kind of a neat artistic piece in the middle of the shopping area.

Another nifty piece outside!

Take two.

So, it turns out that Customs here doesn't care if your bag has film... Apparently EVERYTHING gets x-rayed coming in to Iceland... Hope it didn't kill my film! That would really bum me out!!!
Change from my snack lunch and a postcard. This is my first foreign currency!
Woah! Candy tastes like food here! So much more flavorful and nomalicious! Must be the real ingredients. Ya think? Good call Quinn! I very well may have to send back a box of treats!
And a really neat piece heading in to check in for my flight to London!
What a beautiful place! One day maybe I'll actually get to check it out! Maybe on my return trip? Though I got the feeling that the country basically turns off at 2200. I could have been misinformed though. Maybe they were just talking about The Blue Lagoon, which is near here and considered one of the 25 wonders of the world! Hey, I've been to a few hot springs in my day, but one that rates like that? Might be worth another extended layover.
Off to London!
Amendment: looks like I lost a bunch of media since I didn't have Internet connection... Let's just say the makers of the BlogPress app are getting an email about the situation...

Location:The Leifur Eiríksson International Air Terminal, Reykjavik, Iceland
